custom made pickguards

Post by Geoff Brown »

I have a Tele with a P-90 neck pickup, so it's not a standard Tele pickguard. I'd like to have a faux-tortoise shell guard made for it. Someone local here in the Nashville area would be great, but if I have to make a template or send the guard out of town that's ok too. I've asked around a bit here in Nashville, and so far I've struck out. Haven't asked Glaser yet, tho.

stewmac.com, #1961 might be a starting point.

Lots of places online, i.e. Warmoth (www.warmoth.com) -- their site says they can rout any standard pickup shape.

Ditto on Warmoth. I have ordered several custom 'gards from them with good results.

Warmoth told me that they won't accept a template supplied by a customer, and wouldn't be able to help me with this particular guard. They suggested I try
http://www.pickguardian.com

I emailed them, got a quick reply with a price. So, I think I'll deal with them.

Here's another place I tried:
http://pickguards.us/index.htm

They were more expensive. Pickguardian is also just up the road in Columbus, so turnaround time should be better.
