There are about 15 minutes of streaming audio on this site featuring the late jazz master guitarist, Ted Greene, giving one-on-one lessons to a student. Ted was an incredible chord melody player and it's very interesting to get some insight into how he taught.

| Ted was one of the most amazing guitarists you'll ever hear. His solo CD should be required listening. The chord voicings, substitiutions, and voice leading Ted used are an object lesson to any musician on any instrument. |

Thanks for the link, I'm listening to the "Flintstones lesson" right now.
I remember pondering Ted Green's Chord Chemistry book in the '70's. Way over my head, considering all the KISS records I had at the time

Nice link, Andy. It would be interesting to hear more. I'm kind of surprised that the lessons are pretty down-to-earth and not too esoteric. I've owned a copy of "Chord Chemistry" for ages, but I've only been able to absorb a fraction of the stuff in his book.

| There's an article in the November 05 Guitar Player that includes a lesson by Ted Greene, with a pile of unusual voicings to try. Some of them are pretty hard to play because of the stretches involved. Amazing stuff... |

Andy-- a great "find" on your part. That was fascinating to hear. Many on this Forum reminisced after his passing about what a wonderful and cool guy he was, and the rest of us can now get to know him a little through these lessons. And his CD is jaw-dropping in every way. The touch, tone, taste and imagination, the level of mastery... Just those cascading harmonics are the best I've ever heard or likely ever will.
