Got this Jim Hall (one of my favorite jazz guitar pickers) email today. Now where did put that spare 15K???

Jim's Gibson Amp
Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Jazz History. Jim is retiring his Gibson amp. This is the amp he used from the very beginning of his career through the 1970s. The majority of his recordings with people such as Sonny Rollins, Paul Desmond, Bill Evans, Art Farmer (just to name a few) were made using this amplifier. It was his main touring amp as well. 10 years ago Jim had the amplifier put into a custom Harry Colby cabinet. The Executive Producer Participant for the Jim Hall/Geoffrey Keezer Project will receive Jim's Gibson amp as well as Executive Producer credit on the Jim Hall/Geoffrey Keezer CD. We do not expect this offer to be available for much longer. Read more here

Fifteen grand for an amp is a bit on the steep side, regardless of the custom made cabinet.

Maybe Buddy Emmons could sell his amp for $20,000.00. After all, look at the parade of super stars he played for while using his amp.

Could this once in a life time offer be a fund raising deal by any chance?
