I understand that PPL is touring again and is to cut a new album. There's a couple of original members in this iteration. Has anyone seen them yet? From what I have read, Fats Kaplin will be joining them to play some steel and other instruments. Check out this site for info - http://www.pureprairieleague.com/

They're going to be here in the Seattle area as part of the summer "Picnic in the Park" series, sharing the bill with POCO.
$20.00 tickets! Wouldn't miss it. July 22.

At least Craig Fuller's back with 'em.
His songwriting & vocals really made those early albums great.

I was partial to the grouping that had Vince Gill and no pedal steel.....

I saw them in their prime back in 1974, they even did the Hag song, "Holding Things Together" along with their own great songs back then, JDC was playing a blonde Professional tilted forward, he was great!

Our band opened for them in northern Minnesota in '85 and they didn't have a steel. They asked if I would sit in with them and I would have loved to but we had another gig to get to. I had the licks to "Kansas City Southern" down to a tee. Would Vince have been in the band then? I don't recall, because I'd never heard of him then.
