I haven't listened to country music radio in several years. This afternoon on the way home I decided to listen and hear what's going on.

I punched up the FM band and started clicking thru the channels. I found nothing in 20 min or so I looked.

For those in the LA area, are there any stations left?

Oh, there is plenty of country music on the air, but it's from the wrong country, south of the border.

And that's not so funny.

Ken, I listen to the TOAD, 1340 AM; but it's low power, in the San Bernardino area. You may not be able to receive it in Simi. They need a few more flashlight batteries on their transmitter.

I get some static here in Claremont; but on the way to Vegas it comes in good almost all of the way to Barstow.

They play a lot of traditional country.

That's exactly what I'd want to hear on a drive to Barstow. I love that part of the country!

Chas Smith should tackle Harry Partch's "Barstow" on pedal steel - now that would be something!
