I have a cassette of great bluegrass fiddlers and on the Curly Fox cuts which sound like Bluegrass but have steel licks and Chet Atkins/Les Paul type electric guitar licks. Sounds really neat on bluegrass songs to hear stuff like this.

Don't know who the steel player might be, but the guitarist is most likely Mose Rager. He was Merle Travis' biggest influence, along with Ike Everly, and recorded with Curly Fox and Texas Ruby.

Does anyone know if those Curley Fox cuts are available by themselves or are they only on the bluegrass compilation? Thanks, JH

I have a Curly Fox/Texas Ruby vinyl album on a German Cowgirlboy-label, it's the same company, which puts out the Bronco Buster cd's. It's a small one man ( or woman nowadays )company and has been in business for years. Their catalog is impressive to say the least. I'm not sure though, how well these older vinyl pressings are available nowadays. The link is here: http://www.dagmar-anita-binge.de/label-index.htm
