Happy Birthday to Loretta. She is one of my personal favorite female singers. Another reason I like her can be put in two words,"Hal Rugg". Hal playing on her recordings just put the icing on the cake. I hope she is around for many years to come.

Very true! She's a great singer and no need to say anything about Hal's playing!
Happy Birthday!
Kind Regards, Walter

Remember that magazine that had the words and the music? In 1964 or 1963 they showed a picture of Loretta Lynn in a flowing dress with both of her shoes off and going outdoors somewhere. I always did like Loretta's singing but I also always appreceated her downhome style.

Happy Birthday to Loretta from her old drummer Lonnie Godfrey. Lonnie works in my band (The Legends) and has some great road stories of those years. Have a good 'un, JH

Loretta Lynn's new album, Van Lear Rose, comes out Tues. April 27th. It is produced by Jack White of the White Stripes, and, according to her liner notes, it is her first album for which she wrote all of the songs.I've heard an advance copy and her singing is,to me, as good as ever.
