I saw the Lewis family at one of the first festivals I went to in Hugo, OK. I think I was about 12 years old.

I spoke with Little Roy early this morning. He is a picking buddy, lives nearby, and is a good friend. Pop had been very ill for some time, lost a leg a few months ago, and, while he and Little Roy were alone in the room, Pop just stopped breathing, and went home. He was a great old dude, as happy to be talking farming, music, telling jokes and stories about the old days (and he had a MILLION of those!), as he was meeting fans. He will be missed by those of us who had the privilege of knowing, and loving him. And Little Roy said to tell y'all thanks for your prayers, etc. |
