The following is an announcement from Brian Landrum, WSM Program Director.
Beginning March 15th, we will launch a new subscription plan with an introductory monthly fee of $6.50 for high-band listeners to WSMonline and for selected WSM archives. For your convenience, you will also be able to sign-up and save on a full year subscription for only $65.00! Registration for the service will begin a few days prior to the launch.
With your subscription to WSMonline, you’ll be able to listen to 650 AM WSM at the highest quality, while having access to exclusive Internet specials and other unique programming. You will enjoy shows like Eddie Stubbs’ Classic Show, a special country legends series, great concert events, as well as album premieres that you can not hear anywhere else.
This new subscription plan allows WSM to continue serving Internet listeners across the United States and around the world. WSMonline will offer the low-band stream at no cost as well as access to the information and contests on our website. We appreciate your support of WSM as the premier source of classic country music.

My reply from Landrum was that subscribers would get features not available to dial up subscibers. What this means to the people I know is that you can't load archives of the opry or midnight jamborree. I guess it's the way things are going such as the sights of Limbaugh
and O"Rielly.

Folks, they're just tryin' to make a dollar. After all, you can't expect that measly hundred thousand or so they make in ticket sales, or that million or so they make in weekly advertising money, to pay all those huge salaries for the musicians and performers...can you?  |

| I agree that the Gaylords should have been run out of town. However it seems they are the more powerful,powerful enough to have run good country music out of town. OH well they can stick it up their rrsss as far as i'm concerned. |

| I don't know; I might end up paying the $6.50 (or $645 a year. But I really don't think I should have to; I pay enough to have the broad band. The thing is..I do listen to archived programming as I'm usually not home on Saturday nights..and cannot listen to the opry live. As for the idea that..well..maybe they are in need of funds..well..that's just not my problem! |
