Trouble in Mind" changes

Post by Adrian Wulff »

Does anyone have a western swing arrangement for this. I can play along using the 1-4-5 chords but it sounds like there is more going on (I'm listening to the Merle Haggard version).

Thanks

What album is that on?
At least 15 years ago I had a Haggard album that had that song on it....believe it was a live album...not sure what happened to the album...but I'd love to get it again...just don't know the album title.

I don't have the Haggard album handy but I suspect it's something like this:

In G: /G /D7 /G G7 /C C#dim/G E7 /Am7 D7 /
/ G C7 /G D7 /

When I played with Merle we played it
G/D7 G7/C7-C#dim G-Bm-Bbdim-Am7/D7/G

that's it!

I played it in a blues band for a few years. We played around a lot with with the changes, but finally settled down to a 3-chord version because we liked the rootsy flavor of it. We added a 1 6 2 5 in the tag at the end just to wake people up. Image

I like Merle's version, though, and Bob Wills. We just weren't that kind of band.
