I just got The Statler Brothers Farewell Concert on DVD. What a great concert. Even though they rarely used a steel guitar The Statlers were one classy act. Had the pleasure of seeing them live back in the 80's and they put on a great show. They will be missed.

On some of their records from the 70's on Mercury they used Pete Drake, also Weldon Myrick played one some of their later albums ("Four For The Show"), but I wonder if they ever used Steel Guitar on stage (don't think so).

Kind Regards, Walter

Hal Rugg played steel on all the Stadler Brothers TV shows until the show was cancelled.
