I just got the George Strait - For the Last Time, Live at the Houston Astrodome DVD - what a great show! George is brilliant, the Ace In The Hole Band is fantastic!

That's a winner!

Walter, does the theme of the show "For the Last Time" feature the music of Bob Wills, or does it indicate that he is planning to discontinue touring?

It refers to the last time he would do a show in the Houston Astrodome during the Houston Livestock Show. That was the show that gave George his big break years ago. They have now moved the stock show to the newly built Reliant Stadium. No more Astrodome.

On a recent awards show, George made the comment, "I'm not done until you (meaning the fans) say I'm done".

Thanks for that info Alvin. George Strait is currently and consistently defending the last outpost in traditional country and western-swing music today....if he were to quit, there would be no hope!

Benny MacArthur told me that the band hadnt played for 9 months prior to that show. Its scary how tight they are. One of the best country bands of all time.
