Theresa,
As usual - I totally agree! And Keith Whitley's passionate voice crying those profound lyrics is absolutely unforgetable! Interesting however, that the passion reflected by many artists so often emerges through their own pain. Then again, without having experienced our own personal pain, we probably would be unable to feel his. I think this kind of music, although sad, has a healing effect on some people. It seems to with me.

Ditto to both Theresa and Janice. Keith Whitley was one of the best and "Ten feet away" is one of my all time favorites.

I remember when Keith was on the bluegrass circuit, with J.D. Crowe. He and I got to be acquaintances (we didn't know each other well enough to be "friends"), but we would kid each other about drinking too much. It still breaks me up when I think about The afternoon I got the news.I didn't want to believe it then, and I don't want to believe it now.
One of the best country voices EVER, gone, and senselessly.
Keith, I miss you, buddy.
Thanks for starting this thread, Theresa.

Not to take away from the subject of this post, but I'd bet that Keith would be very honored at the way Alison Krauss performed his song just a few years ago.
Wouldn't they make a great duet if he were here today?
Heavenly I would think.

Theresa, just when I've given up hope on you, you always take a left turn and post something that I think is brilliant. I am sitting here listening to the "Sad Songs and Waltzes" album as I am typing this. I am listening to "To Be Loved By A Women" with Doug Jernigan on steel. This song will send shivers up your spine if you love country music, and this album is probably my favorite country album of all time. Keith Whitley is amazing.
