I just wanted to promote this new site created by a good friend. It provides some discussion, some links, some tips and some show & tell of his off-the-beaten-path home brews. The site does a good job of describing where he's coming from--an engineer, a craftsman, a contributing editor to American Lutherie. He's not promoting anything--just sharing some of his experience.

| He's still there (Newton), I was there, I think 72-74? Right after high school (well, right after dropping out). Lived on Symphony Place before gentrification---this was sort of transitional between the real ghetto and the Berklee ghetto. Then Allston, Brookline, Brighton Hill. Some fuzzy brain years there and I'm not even sure if I'm not making up some names. If I had been involved in the country scene I probably could have been meeting you, John Macy, who else....? What was the name of the honky tonk near the bus station? I had heard of it but never had the pleasure (or desire) of going there. Was pursuing jazz at the time and was an insufferable jazz snob. |
