TAKE YOUR MEMORY WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO
As Recorded by: Vince Gill

I can read the writing on the wall.
You pretend that nothings changed at all.
I've got just one thing to ask you if it's so.
Take your memory with you when you go.

CHORUS:
So I won't have to think about,
the lonely nights I'll be with out,
someone to hold me when the cold wind blows.
Take your memory with you when you go.

So I won't have to miss you.
Take your memory with you.
Take your memory with you when you go.

Walk the floor and wonder what went wrong.
Have to find a way to carry on.
Don't you leave before the heart aches start to show.
Take your memory with you when you go.

CHORUS 2:
So I won't have to think about,
the lonely nights I'll be with out,
someone to hold me when the cold wind blows.
Take your memory with you when you go.
So I won't have to miss you.
Take your memory with you.
Take your memory with you when you go.

That's the one David and thank you so much I appreciate your trouble !! Boy why couldn't I think of Vince Gill ??? It's sad to get old and forgetful but like they say "getting older beats the alternitive"
I wonder who dubbed the steel on the recording ? Don't sound like John Hughey but I could be wrong. Thanks again David.

It was John Hughey who played on "Take Your Memory With You When You Go" by Vince Gill. The song is on Vince's record "Pocket Full Of Gold", which was the first album John ever played on with Vince. "Look At Us" is on there too. Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel
