ANYONE on here remember the artists that appeared on WLW/WJR back in the early 1950's
like Ernie Lee, Patti Page, Red Kirk and Judy Perkins. Speaking of Judy Perkins, anyone have any snapshots of her and/or knows her present day status? Would really like to know. Thanx |

| Well, I'm not old enough and I'm from the "wrong" country, but Eddie Jackson was most likely one of the artist to appear in those shows. He was one of the most popular country artists in Detroit in the 50's. He had a bunch of regional hits like "Rock'n'roll Baby" and "You Put It There", which we covered on with Marti Brom. | He was a band leadera nd had a bunch of fine musicians. In addition to Byrd and Harris he had two brothers, Zeke turner ? and ? plus ernie lee sang for him. There were others but I can't think of their names. The Turner? brothers later became Jerry Byrds"STringdusters" I believe and went with him to Cinncinati. All the above is from a washed out memory. I believe but cannot document this, Zeke was the one that was the "Stringduster" and Zeb was with Red Foley on the Prince Albert Grand Ole Opry Shows. However, there were occaisions when both Zeke and Zeb were with the Stringdusters.
