Good Steeler!?!?!?!?!

Post by Stephen Gambrell »

Saw Charlie Daniels on TV Friday night, playing fiddle.
Made me realize what a great steeler Jerry Garcia was. Image

Right on, that song did for fiddlers what "Wipe Out" did for serious percussionists!

Don't care for Charlie.
Have spent some time with his brother Jack, however. Image

Jerry, I couldn't agree more. We should all have Charlie's values and Christian morals.
But some things just go together---Charlie's
fiddle playing, Jerry's steelin', Bobbe Seymour's hair.......

I always liked his guitar playing much more than his fiddle playing. He does some really neat double guitar lines (a la the Allman's) with Tom Crain on the Saddle Tramp and Nightrider albums. He and Tom really let it rip on a couple of tunes from those albums.
