Who would you like to see & hear today!& who would you not like to see & hear? Every time we watch the Opry, theres always a lot of derogatory comments on how bad this one was, & so on, & of course, how great this one was, & how great the steel with them was! I'm also referring to the Artists, that we hear daily on radio! Kinda like, the Tims&Tobys vs. the Alans&Georges! Anyone agree?

Come on now Red! Are you tellin' me you dont want to make a "B double E doubleR-U-N" or "Talk about Me". JUST JOKING! To me, listening to that crap is right up there w/ a swift kick to the crotch or a boil implant! I'd really like to meet the clowns that promote that junk cause I've heard some great Techno. and rap groups they could put on their country music record labels. But seriously....I'd kinda like to hear some ol' Buck Owens, Jerry Reed, Gram Parsons or even Willis Allan Ramsey. Do you think the Louvin' Brothers would be a little to hard core for the radio?

I'm with Bobby!
More instrumentals!
Also, I'd like to see more fat people, and some old ones, and more ugly ones too!
And we really need are some more weird lookin' funny-singin' ones, too...like Lyle Lovett (our answer to Bob Dylan!).
But everything today is sex appeal.

Woudn't that be incredible to hear a Ray Price tune or Connie Smith tune with a 12 bar steel solo, and then the radio dude makes reference to the Steel player !! Oh and while he's talking he makes reference to the brand of steel and which amp he's using ! I mean if we're gonna dream why stop half way ...
" Yes folks that was Connie Smith with Loyd Green on Pedal Steel Guitar, and you know, Loyd plays on a specially built Sho-Bud Steel Guitar with his name on it and he plays thru a Peavey Nashville 1000 amplifier, Wow what tone ! " " Man that guy can play, Oh yea, Connie sings great too"....
Maybe someone will make a movie where all the great singers and Steel players come out of a Corn Field.....

On the NOT side, just spare me that Toby Keith rap tune. Called the DJ on that one yesterday; we both agreed it was worse than the bad stuff. I could give you a much bigger list here, but what good would it do?
I'd like to hear NEW music by Haggard on the radio -- speaking of dreaming -- along with work of some new artists. Newer artists such as Dale Watson, Heather Myles, Justin Travino. I'd like radio to allow traditional artists like AJ, Strait, Chesnutt and Sara Evans to remain traditional and still get some air.
I would like new music with a traditional flavor. I don't need radio to play the oldies -- I have the ones I want.

While drving back to Charlotte from Atlanta a week or so ago , coming through SC I picked up a local Public station which was airing a spceial show , Jim Reeves, Ray Price and Don Williams. Although I was never a huge Jim Reeves fan I most definelty have been a fan of the Ray Price and Don Williams tunes. So for about half the trip I got to listen to Ray Price with Jimmy Day and Buddy, Don Willimas with Loyd Green and Jim Reeves with ( not sure ) . The radio dude was really into the show.
Now my list of NO's:
Judds
Toby Keith
Garth
Did I say Judds ?
Toby Rap Keith, Oh I already said him
Can anyone tell me what Dreaming in Red White and Blue refers to,is it a secret code reference to which drugs to take ?
