Tenitive list
John Conley will host
Jo De Massena
Jordenairres
Jimmy C Newman
Gail Davies
Randy Travis

I will have to see the sunday morning rerun.
Wonder if the coldfront will be far enough south that we won't have to put up with Jo Dee in shorts again.

Opry moves back to the Ryman next weekend through February

Wasn't Con Hunley at the convention with Herbie Wallace? D'ya suppose he'll be with him on the show?

Hey Ern, you're getting dyslexic. That's John Conley, not Con Hunley.

Yeah, John. That's like the other night when my uncle asked, "What ever happened to old Bo Mandy?"

Was great to see Weldon Myrick playing steel with Gail Davies tonight on the Opry.
Great job my friend.

PS. Thanks to the camera person for some great close ups of all the Steel Players.

I'd have to give the opry a B plus tonight. I'm not a Joe Dee Massena fan by any stretch of the imagination, but her numbers tonight were'nt bad. Randy Travis was excellent! Quite a lot of steelin. And of course with the Jordanaires your seeing legends in action! Leigh

Last night I took the time to listen to the complete Opry and that included the Tv hour. The last half hour blew my mind with Ray Pillow (the man can flat out sing)Jim Lauderdale and Jim Ed who sounded like the rebirth of Jim Reeves as he did his Medley of Reeves songs. The Opry Staff Band is something else. There is plenty of great Country music beyond the hour so many of us judge the Opry by.I have been a severe critic myself and have told Pete Fisher at one time he was screwing it up. I also later told him I rushed to Judgement and that he has put on a variety of acts trying to broaden the audience. I'm not saying I like the new stuff I really don't but the man has more people to please than me. I don't particuly care for Jo Dee Mesina's music or her imitation of "I dream of Jeannie" sans belly button. But I won't knock her genuine successes. If someone is on the TV portion that I don't like so be it, there are plenty of Artist on each night that I do like. Try the Complete Opry some Saturday night,It comes in clear on the 650 am dial all throught the South and it's on until midnight (1 am down here) Then if you want to stay up longer tune in the Ernest Tubb midnight Jamboree show....

You pretty much covered my feelings on this subject Joe. And I think from now on, I'll just enjoy the Opry, and if there's a show I dont like I'll just hit the channel changer!

Who was the steeler with Randy Travis? I was hoping to see Steve Hinson, but was not to be.
