I'll be in my recliner for this one. Sounds like it will be a very entertaining show. I've heard a lot about Dale Watson, but have never seen him. I'm looking forward to that.

Great show! Boy, you can sure tell that band's from Texas! I thought that Ricky was really charismatic. Of course, I was watching on a color TV, so maybe that had something to do with it. |

What a show!!!!! Roy Clark is a wonderful performer and it was refreshing to see his band dressed in tux's. Bob Hempker played his butt off and sounded great. Del Reeves is always great but the best one tonight was Dale Watson, WOW!!!! This guy is GREAT, better than GREAT, heck he's just plain ole GOOD. This was my first time to see him perform and I just became a Dale Watson fan. Those of you who missed it should be horse whipped, tarred and feathered and have the bottoms of your feet tickled with a feather. |

Ricky Davis blew me away. Both solos were great. I really liked the C6 ride on the last song. I wished I had my VCR running. And I agree Dale Watson is wonderful! |

I really enjoyed the show as well! I thought that Ricky D. not only played well but he damn sure looked like he was enjoying what he was doing and I really appreciated that. A lot of us just stare at the neck, never smile, etc. and it takes away from the performance. Ricky gave the impression that he was having one helluva good time and I'm sure he was. I also liked the white fretboards on his guitar. Anyway thanks for the goodtime Ricky, I'd never seen or heard you play before and I was impressed with your whole thing. Keep it up, you made a good impression for the steel guitar world.

What song(s) did Dale and the Lonestars do Sat night??... one off the new album or a good old Cheatin Heart Attack / Blessed or Damned cut??? I was in the process of moving last weekend and missed the show (900 mile move, but now am in Lexington, Kentucky only about 10 minutes from Lynagh's Pub - so look forward to seeing DW and the fellers a bit more often!!) - Neil H. |

Hey thanks everybody for the really nice words. I wrote an extended thank you and more over on the "Steel Players" section thread, and it applys here as well.
Neil; sorry you missed it pal...I believe you can hear it over on wsm.com in the archives.
On the TV portion we did two cuts off the newest CD> "Best part of me" and "Money can't buy her Love".
They both have a nice western swing feel to them and it was super having the two friends come in on horns(one of the horn players was David Hungate>bass player on all the Michael Jackson thriller stuff and toto and so on..wow what a honor) and of course the Opry piano and rythum guitar player were super.
Catch ya later and really thanks everybody for the support and feedback in what we do.

Mike,Billy, and Dave,
Hey, thanks so much for the wonderful compliments!! I don't deserve them. Just about anyone could do what I do with Roy Clark. It's not a real steel player's gig, although he personally loves steel guitar. I work for Roy because it's a good paycheck, and because Roy has so much class as a human being, and does let you know he appreciates you. Mike, I have yet to get to hear you play, but I look forward to it. Dave, and Billy, you guys both know without me saying how much I respect both of you, and absolutely treasure our friendships. You guys are a couple of the top players in Nashville, and don't seem to ever get any credit for it. My best to you both.Oh, BTW, Ricky, it was great to finally get to meet you. You played great!!!!
