I just saw Chely Wright's new video on CMT which does have steel
If you don't mind Mike Snyder it might be a decent 1/2 hour.

Janice,
Unlike so much of the trash that's called country when it's not old Mike sure is.The boy is country and funny. |

i have seen mike live a couple times. that comment was made based on the fact that he is bluegrass which does not use steel.
Otherwise wehad a nice showing including Billy Walker pointing to his player during the solo's.
hope the racing does not run over for those we want to see the rerun.

the "Steel Gods" were looking over the Opry tonight. Everyone came through loud and clear and sounded wonderful. Even though Shellie Wright's songs were a little on the pop side, there was plenty of good steel mixed into them to make it worth listening to. All in all, it was a good show.
(WOW! Did I just say that?) |

I missed the TV portion, but I was able to listen to the last hour of the Opry on the car radio while returning from a gig. Ray Pillow sang "Someone Had to Teach You". What a performance! Ray did great on this classic - and Tommy White was phenomenal. TW's performance on that one song was worth the price of admission. Oh, yes, Charlie Walker was on the same portion and sang "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down" - and the Opry staff band did their usual fine job.
What a pleasure to hear those two performances - and the radio signal hung in there for both.
