Excellent, Joe!

We call it "guilt by association". If I had Garth's name recognition I'd be careful who I loaned it to.

There are alot of people that don't like country music because for some strange reason it is associated with ignorance and intolerance.

Armchair survey: how many of the people griping about "getting the government off our backs" make it their personal hobby to stick their noses in other people's private lives,or,more to the point,in their bedrooms. Take a tip from country music: Mind Your Own Business, Live and Let Live, and You Go to Your Church and I'll Go to Mine. If your concerned that homosexuals are "polluting" society, here's a newsflash:it's already way past five feet high and rising, and IMHO, any people living lives of love instead of hate can only make things better. Just my nickel's worth.

Hey Piney,

I agree with you. I would NEVER stick my nose in these freak's private affairs. BUT, when they're throwing mass gatherings to stomp their feet and try to make the world accecpt and condone a practice that will never be accepted by socity no matter how many rock stars or wanna' be rock stars they have prancing around for their cause, than I have as much right to shoot them down as you do to defend them. I respect your right to do so.

First of all, let it be known that I'm not defending Garth; no matter what cause he is behind, I think his music leaves a lot to be desired.
Second of all, amen to free speech. That's why I live in America.Relating to that, I thought "shoot them down" was an interesting choice of words. No,didn't see the words love and hate, but I'm pretty sure "prejudice" was somewhere between the lines. And as far as homosexuality never being widely accepted (and I'm not homosexual, if that's of any import to this discussion),maybe you should read up on ancient Greece, the cradle of democracy.
Great discussion;sorry to veer further off the thread. And it sure was good to see some appreciation of Junior Brown on another thread.

May not be kosher to post a reply to your own post, but here it is just the same.I don't think anybody should be "forced" to accept anything, little kids and their mom's cooking being the exception.Like I said in my first post, live and let live.Besides,it's awful hard to pick when you're pointing fingers.God bless America, and I'm over and out.
