Just got an e-mail from Marty Martel. He said the Four Guys were let go from the Opry yesterday. I wonder how long it will be before Martina McBride has the distinction of being the oldest member of the Opry.
This kiss, this kiss...... aw, sing it, Mark, sing it!!

More to come,Fisher hasn't taken his Hitler pills lately. If the members don't have the ball$ to stick together and make a statement,Like walking out. If they need the money that bad that they let themselves becrapped on. Could be a case of age discrimination here.Opps I forgot Tennesee is a right to work state,Yeh right and the union is behind it's members. Yeh right,so far behind them that you can never see them unless it's time to collect some money.
It seems to me there were changes more obvious that are needed. But hold on I am sure Fisher is not finished.

eric, the Four Guys are a singing quartet that have been Opry members for nearly 30 yrs. They never really made it to the big time. They were always in the shadow of the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers.

I think they came from Ohio. Did'nt they have something to do with the pet milk talent contest? Two of the founding members retired a few months back. Maybe they saw the writing on the wall!!

Although I don't think those piles of Dog Sh** would even read or care about our opinions, I will send nasty emails to both of them also. God help all of the members and musicians that are still priveledged to perform there. Their day will come too.

This is a sad state of affairs but Fisher's motives are not completly off the mark. The best we can hope is that if any more acts
are to be released that they be the ones with least attraction, vocal qualitys etc.

Bob;There is nothing wrong with making changes,However if any employee can do his or her job and have been loyal to the company, they deserve more than 10 minutes before being fired. If some one can't do their job, after a whole lot of years a little notice to improve or else is in order.Good workers in any field, generaly are treated pretty good. The Ones who can't cut it more often are not.Seems like the public thought the Four Guys could cut it.(33 yrs.) Maybe Fisher liked "Yankee Gray". Everyone of us has different taste,we like some artist, some we don't.However once a member is supposed to be always a member. There should be replacements, there should be some retiring because they just plain can't cut it.But all should be treated fairly, better yet the Opry should be treated fairly with the honor it deserves.Looks like all will have to learn to say Hiel Fisher and click their boots together.

Someone was asking where Reba was? She only been on the Opry once in 9 years so you can't expect her to rally for anything.
Looks like the house cleaning is continuing on. Theres more to the housecleaning than whats being said to us, the general public. What was the reason Leon Rhodes was let go? Might wan't to ask Jimmy Capps or Tommy White, who now have some of their buddies pickin'. The Opry is still the Greatest show on earth and is so dear to my heart and has been since I was 9 .

Yeah Mark, I had to tone down my actual thoughts. B0B would have had to ban me from the forum for sure. While I personally did not care a lot for the Four Guys, this Pete Fisher M.F.S.O.B. has to be eliminated. He will stop at nothing. I see the Opry as a patient on life support with Pete Hitler (oops, I mean Fisher - or do I?) with his hand ready to pull the plug. Someone needs to beat that piece of $h(t to a pulp and lay him in the hospital bed next to the opry. Let me decide which plug to pull.
Sorry if I seem upset. I really don't feel good today and am real easy to pi$$ off. Well, pass the Nyquil and put me back to bed. Just not in the same room as fish$h!t, I mean Fisher (or do I?
)
Man I'm really on the rag tonight. Has anyone got a picture of this pri@k, I see an addition to my web site about this jerk.

I had the dubious honor of being in the audience when the Four Guys debuted on the Grand Ole Opry. They were bad then and they never got any better over the years. They were always regulars everytime my parents took us to the Opry. They just never had anything to build to. Although I do not agree with what Pete Fisher did or his methods in doing so, they would have been the act I would have chosen for the axe to fall on. How could they be Opry members when none of them were members of the original cast when they Four Guys were inducted into the Opry? We like to argue Country and un-country, what category do they fall into?
I don't speak with forked tongue, Tonto!!!

I had the honor of takeing my wife to the the "FOUR GUYS CLUB" here in Nashburg, when they were out on Murfressboro Road,Several times. I didn't see them as a second rate act or even a "second to The Statlers". I enjoyed every time we visited their club and have oftened wondered how they managed to complete a show there and then get back to the "Grand Old Opry" (which was downtown at that time) in time to do their spot.
Too bad that Mr. Fisher is so blind that he cain't see that he will be remembered as the "Hitler" of the "Opry" as we know it.
(All this is my own humble opinion)

Harmonica player DeFord Bailey was fired from the Opry because he didn't learn any new material.
I don't claim to know as much about it as Marty Martel, but I know that

M.F.S.O.B = Mighty Fine Singer Of Blues. It's in volume 2 of the Mel Bay series on Acronyms. You must have volume 1, the country acronyms.
