Watched Hag's special on TNN last night. All in all I thought the show was good. However, I sat there all night waiting for "Guess I'll Just Sit Here and Drink" because of Norm's killer riff. Guess what? No Norm riff, two sax riffs and guitar and some stupid mini guitar, but not Norm. P***ed me off.

I had seen this special when it was on last month. My pleasure was pointing out Red Vokart.

I love the sax but it seems a bit out of place in country music....

Drew, you must have the Live at Billy Bob's CD, because that killer riff wasn't on earlier cuts of that one. Right?
We watched it last night while visiting my in-laws. While driving back today I had the Billy Bob's CD on. My wife nearly suffered an out of body experience when she awoke during Big City. Thinking we'd already heard that one, she ejected the CD; she'd indeed already heard it -- last night on TV. Anyway, once corrected she reinserted the disk and endured the last 3 tunes on the CD.
Mike, you have to forget the stereotypes when listening to Merle's music. Do you like the Sax or not? It doesn't matter what's typical. Hag--in an article or in his book-- said he had never received a negative comment on using the sax. Not one!
How about the harp on "Looking For A Place to Fall Apart"? I haven't seen that since June Carter played one on the Johnny Cash Show.
Hey, the new Hag book, "My House of Memories" is great reading for all HagFans... I'm not a fast reader and I finished it 2 days after Christmas.
