I purchased a Shubb capo for my squareneck
Regal and can't seem to get it to work
right. It makes a wonderful mute, but a
lousy capo.
Any tips?
Thanks

I had the same problem but now mine works fine. I first tried to fix the problem by making the clamp adjustment really tight but I bent my strings and the guitar went way out of tune. Don't do that!
Make sure that the top piece of the clamp that holds the strings down is level across the top of the strings, before you clamp the capo down. If you do this you won't need a lot of tension from the adjustment screw. Hope this helps.

Hi Bill. When you bought the capo it came with plastic shims that attach to the bottom of the piece that the stings sit on. You use these shims to make that piece the same dimension as your string height. Try not to push the strings up. It should just slide under the strings and ideally be touching them lightly. It should not take much pressure from the clamp to get everything sounding good. I've been using this capo since it came out and like it very much. |

Thanks guys! I'll check out the shims - that may be the ticket.
