Hi Guys, Mine is probably late forties. Strings thru the tailpiece rather than thru the top. Slot head screws thru-out except for the pickup adjustment which are two phillips. Love the guitar but it came without a case. Can anyone help? I also need a case for my old Supro lap steel. I have cash or some great old Jensen speakers to trade, tubes...other stuff too! If you're in the Denver area I can repair your amp too! Thanks, Lew

Lew, I have an empty lap steel case. It's to narrow for the Ricky, but it may fit the Supro.
The inside dimensions are 31+1/2 L x 8+ 3/4 W.
I believe it was originally for a Magnatone. It's in great shape and covered with Maroon fake Alligator!
If you can use it email me.

Several years a go when I owned a ZB, the Rickenbacker was stored in a shed on the back of my property. I didn't go out there for months at a time. One day I went out there and to my horror I discovered that my roof was leaking and water had leaked on my guitar case and ruined it. Had the guitar been made of wood then that would have been the end of it also. After trying for several months to buy a new case locally in Nashville I gave up and made my own case.

Lew: Finding replacement cases for lap steels is always a problem, but for the Rickenbachers, at least, there's a solution.
A couple of years ago I saw a bakelite in an SKB viola case, for which someone had made a velvet covered styrofoam liner. The fit was perfect.
Also, contact Melobar. As in so many things lap steel, I believe Ted Smith can help you out.
