Goldtone Squareneck resonator

Post by Joe Lipman »

11/9 - PRICE REDUCTION TO $425 + SHIPPING - also open to interesting trades.

Goldtone squareneck resonator. Standard mahogany model. Excellent - near mint condition. Purchased new in 8/05 from the Podium in Minneapolis. The guitar was set up at the Beard shop. The only cosmetic flaw is that the sound hole covers are slightly dented. This can be felt, but cannot be seen. They were like this when I purchased the guitar. In fact, I didn’t even notice it for over 6 months. Comes with hardshell Goldtone case, also near mint condition.

$500 + shipping from Nashville TN.

Pictures available on request.

Joe, very interested. The dents are just in the screen holes, correct? Is this the solid mahogany (PBSM model) or the ply body (PBS)?

For further clarification:

1. The standard model is laminated, not solid
2. The 2 screens have minor "pushed in" areas. Not visible, but can be felt.

I hope this clarifies the earlier post.

Joe- Sorry for the confusion; the Beard web site does not refer to their models as "standard." It just gives model designators like PBS, PBSM.

Your asking price is only $70 less than the street cost of a new one, so go ahead and sell it to someone else. Thanks.

Sounds like the posible start of a flame war, but here's my response:

Elderly is my benchmark for pricing. Their price is $570 w/o case. I figure a case is probably $50. That sounds like a street price of $620 to me.

If someone wants to make a lower offer based on this, I'm open to discuss pricing.

Bump for Joe, His equipment is just as he says. His word is his bond as they say. This one is almost cheap enough for me. Goldtone makes a heck of a guitar. I'd buy it in a minute if I had all the cash.

I have seen and played this guitar and the tone and condition are first rate. This is without a doubt, the best intermediate level resonator available.

'Sounds like a real good guitar at a reasonable price...If a good guitar like this lasts this long, maybe a picture or two is what's needed.
Best of luck.

I have one of these. Its a great guitar, just wish I was a better player. Anyway, I wanted to add that the mesh on my soundhole covers was also "pushed in" a little when I bought it new. Maybe this guitar is more pronounced than mine but I think maybe thats just the way they come new? anyway good price on a good guitar, good luck.
