Hi Bobby,
Thanks for your interest. I sent you an email of recognition and another with the pics of the SG.
Sorry to say, they both came back.
My email is lazyone2@pcpartner.net please email me with your email address and I'll re-send the 23 pics. They are not large files.
Thanks.

Hi Chris,
I know exactly what you mean. I did the same thing with one of the very first Gibson "J45 Southerner Jumbo models. I think I paid $179.00 for it in 1945 or 46. At that time that price was about six weeks take home pay. Traded it in on a black and white Supro elactric. Wish I still had that one too. The things we never knew!!!

Just for clarification, The les paul juniors and specials of that era were SG shaped, but they were "les paul juniors and specials" technically.
In the 50's until 60' when the body style was more Les Paul looking, the junior had one p-90 and the special had two, but they were both Les Pauls.
I believe that the same holds true for the 61 thru 69 or whenever gibson stopped making them. They were just shaped like SG's but were referred to as LP Junior or Special.
I think the SG special is a guitar with 2 humbucker pickups.
I am acually in the market for a mid to early 60's junior or special, although I wanted the Polaris White model.
What color is yours, and does it have the fatter profile neck?
If i am wrong about my les paul/SG rant, I didn't mean to stir anything up, I was just pretty sure the p90 equipped sg shaped guitars of this era were called les paul juniors and specials.
Are you at all interested in a refin 71' telecaster?

Hi Jordan,
Sorry but I am really not interested in getting a Tele although, I played Fender Strats etc. for years and always liked the tone and feel of the Maple fretboard. I'm sure yours is a very nice instrument but I have a Tele, an Epiphone and an Aria six string that looks like a Les Paul standard. As to your question about the neck of the SG I'll send you the pics so you can see for yourself.
Thanks for the interest and your thoughts as to the guitar models.

MondoGuitars listed the 1964 SG Standard with P-90's as one of the top ten best vintage guitar buys under $10,000 in 2005. They quoted an average price of $7,000 to $9,000 in cherry finish, wide nut, excellent original condition.
They also noted that the Les Paul/SG guitars with PAF humbucking pickups that were only built from '60-'63 (the single cutaway Les Paul Standard was dropped in '60) are already selling for over $10,000.
No Les Pauls were made from '64 to '67, the familiar single cutaway Les Paul Standard was brought back in '68.
[This message was edited by Michael Hardee on 07 November 2006 at 11:45 PM.]

Hello Mike,
Thank you for the very informative post.
I think everyone that sees your reply will read with interest, as did I. I was not aware of those particular facts.
I was in error also I have learned, in my original post. I find my SG is a Special with the P90 p-ups and not a Standard.
From the many inquiries I have had there is definately a lot of interest in the vintage SGs. I may have to keep mine for a while as I have had no committment as to buying or trading for a steel.
Don't really want to list it on ebay but may have to do so.
Thanks for looking and for the good info.
