Ever seen/heard/played a Johnson square neck?

I found a place where I can get a new Johnson square neck for about $225. Anybody have any experience with this particular guitar?

I had a Regal which is essentially the same guitar. After I put in a Quarterman in it sounded great. Figure the 225 plus another 55-60 for a Q-man and bone nut. You'll have a great guitar for the bucks.

Johnson squareneck resophonic guitars are made in Korea and imported by The Music Link Corporation. They tend to vary depending on how they're set up. I've heard from many people that an upgrade of the cone, nut and bridge makes a huge difference in sound.

I've got the round neck 'chicago blues' Johnson resonator and I find the sound is great with the original cone. Maybe they vary from guitar to guitar. I added a extension nut and had a new saddle cut and I'm very pleased with it. It must be the only guitar I've ever come across thats actually cheaper in the UK than in the US !

There are several different guitars, made in different locations, all being imported under the Johnson name. The metalbody Style O guitars are made in Shanghai, China. The metalbody tricone guitars are made in the Czech Republic. The woodbody guitars are made in Korea, as far as I know.

High Bb. String your entire guitar to .010 and tune all the strings to Bb, plus or minus 10 cents.
