HEAR HIM!!! He's a great dobro player. I've never heard him play lap steel but I'd imagine he's got to be pretty good considering how well he plays dobro.
Last I knew he was playing with Ronnie Stoneman but I know he's done quite a lot else as well in years past.

I saw Master Of the Steel String a month ago.
Went specifically to see Wayne Henderson and
was totally blown away with Johnny Bellar.
This guys got chops. Dobro style and lap
steel. I'd pay the same ticket price just to
see him. Got a great CD from him at the show.

Johnny used to come in my store all the time when I was in Nashville. Undoubtly one of the most fascinating Dobro players you will ever meet. It is a shame he ras not had more recogination. His playing is AWSOME. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works 1-800-749-3363

Johnny also plays dobro with Wilma Lee on the Opry. He was here in the D.C. area two weeks ago but I missed the show.
He used to play with the Stonemans a few years ago when the family still had a band, based in Nashville.
He still lives in the Nashville area and a musician buddy of mine knows him real well, so if you have a specific question, I'll try to get an answer.
