I scanned about 10 pages of hand-written tab via my HP PSC2110 . The default save format was bitmap image which I chose.

Now I find I can't attach more than 1 page to an e-mail because the tab file size is too big.

Any suggestions? TY, FF.

Use your image software to open the file. Resize to something like 800 pixels wide keeing the orginal aspect ratio. Save the file as jpeg (.jpg file) with quality set at 80% or so. The jpeg format will not drop much in clarity at all as it attempts mostly to reduce color content while compressing.

Frank,

You could also scan and save as .pdf or .tiff to reduce file size.

.bmp's are big files.
