Jim:

Get Buddies "Half Duzin Shuffles" and you'll learn a lot more than just the intro. "The Other Woman" is one of the songs and it's all tabbed out very nicely.

Hey John, All he wanted was the INTRO to a song. I don't get why requests like this are always hijacked by someone wanting to plug somebody's 15 song tablature CD for $30 or whatever. He just wants an intro to a song. If you can't help him with his intro why not stay out of it?

Sorry, I'm sure you meant well but I'm also sure there are a lot of guys who feel intimidated when these requests are hijacked like this.

Sorry for the flame but I believe this site is intended for an exchange of Tablature and ideas and not for advertising someone's 15 song instructional CD. There is another category for that. Its called "For Sale: Music Lessons, etc."

Here's a simple 4-bar 1511 intro that would work...
<font face="monospace" size="2"><pre>
D
1____________| |_______10________________|
2____________| |_______10________________|
3___5#___8___| |___10_______10_____13____|
4____________| |_________________________|
5___5##__8___| |___10_______10_____13##__|

A7 D
1|___________10___________|________________
2|____________________10__|________________
3|__10#--10_______________|________________
4|______________10________|___10__r__10----
5|________________________|__________10##-10
6|______________10#_______|___10____________

1______|____________|_______________________
2______|____________|_______________________
3______|__5#----____|_______________________
4______|____________|_______________________
5______|__5--5##____|_______________________
6__10#_|____________|_______________________
</pre></font>

The "r" in measure 3 means a 1/4 note rest.

Sorry I offended some people here! I was only providing another source for the song. I don't endorse anyone's tab or courses.

John - I'm not offended. I need all the help I can get.

Herb gave me what I was looking for.

The ol' KISS theory.

There's a couple of "schools of thought" here advocating the "tab book" source recommendation. One is that the requestor might even have the tab and not know it. Another is that perhaps the requestor might want to know where a good source for the material might be (inquiring minds want to know...).
I also would think it would be inappropriate to lift tab from a publication and reproduce it here as an answer. But, an honest to goodness genuine orginal answer with tab would be welcome too.
Carry on...

Not to mention that ALL the music in Half Duzzin Shuffles is just sooooo... sweet!!

Wow. What a short fuse....

I would hardly call that a hijacking.

me neither
I'd call it a FAVOR

Half Duzin Shuffles is hands down the most useful documentary on how to play the Buddy Emmons / Ray Price shuffle style that exists today. Plus it's by Buddy himself and it only costs $20 WITH FULL TAB AND RHYTHM TRACKS. Most folks pay nearly that for one CD these days.
