Hey Ricky!
I can't find your copedent anywhere, but I might be a bad seeker.
Do you have a double lower at the F#?

Anders; even if you do find my copedent somewhere; it won't be what I'm using now..ha....>I change my knee lever pulls around about every 3 weeks...to do something different.
When I did lower my 7th string F# to E; no I didn't have a half tone stop or tried to get that F note there at all.
Right now on my LDG; I'm raising and lowering my E's on both left levers....and so on my RKL; I lower the 6th string a half tone to G and raise 1st string a whole tone and raise 2nd string a half tone. My RKR lowers 2nd string D#-D-C# and raises my 7th string F#-G-G# and lowers my 9th string D-C#.
Yeeee haaa.

Ricky; haven't you heard that the great Lloyd Green recommends us not to change the set-up? He says that that's like changing location of the keys on a piano and just confuses people. But I guess that you're a mix of a disobediant, restless and curious student who loves to experiment in spite of the Master's words - and that's good, 'cause you come up with lots of creative ideas!
The reason I ask is because I try to play and figure out some of your stuff here at home, 'cause I can't afford to come to Round Rock and save you from that horrible golf addiction (LOL) for steel lessons instead, so I need to know the changes you have had and have.
After all it seemes like we have similar set ups; look at mine at http://groups.msn.com/countryfolketidalarna/dcmcsfotoalbum.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=141
Is your F# to E lower the only extra change you have or have had compared to my copedent or are there others as well?
Stå på!
(Means something like "full speed ahead" or so)

WEll Anders when I did have the 7th string F# to E lower; I had on that same lever; the 2nd string raising a half tone and 1st string raising a half tone.
Depending on how I feel from week to week> I've had the B's lowering a half and whole with a half stop. I've lowered my 6th string a whole tone with a split. I've raised my 4th string to F# and lowered my 8th string to D on the same lever.....>and I also slant the bar quite a bit....>so it may not neccessarily be the changes I have.
I like changing things around to continuously JoG my brain of what I can do and come up with. For a while; I played a speedy west Marlen; that only had a couple knees on it and didn't even lower my 4th string..and I was able to play just about everything I could with 4 knees and a bunch of changes; and I attribute that to making myself constantly think about what I have or don't have and what I want to do.
So yes I am disobediant to the Master...but I've talked to him about it..and he just laughs at me....and thinks its cool; if that's what I wanna do.
Oh and I don't live in Round Rock anymore; that was where I was married; but now divorced and live in North Austin.

Quite an interesting thread! At least you've given me some useful hints on how you play and I must say that you have several really good sounding combinations that I use, or at least try to figure out how to play.
I hereby solemnly suggest that you share your ideas and changer tests in some thread here at the forum now and then! I bet we are many forumites who are very interested in what comes up in your laboratory. So please update us now and then so we can experiment a little too and exchange experiences!
Furthermore I realize that it must be just great for a performing musician to live in the music greenhouse where you live! I might very well come to live there at least for a while when I retire 5 years from now.
Are you ready then, pal?
