I'm pretty new to PSG (about 2 months) and have been looking for instructional material. So far, I've been working though the Mel Bay deluxe PSG method book.

It appears a number of folks offer a pretty complete series. I figure I should pick one of these instructors and stay with their series for a while. My initial interest is the E9 neck.

My question is who should I go with? They all look excellent to me. Does it matter.

BTW, my guitar has the Nashville setup.

Does the Up From the Pedals course use the Nashville or Emmons pedal setup? Or am I asking a question that doesn't matter?

Joe,
Jeff uses Day setup, but it doesnt matter.
These are great Tapes for learning. Start at the beginning with tapes already recommended and you wont be sorry.

Joe, on the Newman courses Jeff refers to the pedals/levers by Letter names ("D lever", etc.) and once you know what the lever does, which strings it pulls, it doesn't matter where it is on your personal setup, as long as you can find it! The Winston book and Wallace courses have some great info and tunes, but the Up from the top Newman stuff will really help you understand your guitar. Another real advantage to the videos is Jeff's wonderful playing- just trying to emulate his touch and tone will get you a long way. He has a real knack for boiling complex things down to the simplest level "just do this when you need this sound". Good luck!
