I do some unison string stuff using strings 1 and 4 with the C pedal. Also, a little with the 1st and 3rd, raising the 1st to a G# with a knee lever. There is an intro that I just can't seem to find. I have heard it on Healing Hands of Time, as well as a few other songs. It is the very first note of the intro when it is unison strings, then splits. Anybody know what I am talking about and can tab or describe how to play the lick? |

That sounds like the 2/5 with the 2 lowered and the 5 raised the way Buddy does it on "Touch My Heart" |

Randy, ole chap, I think you are right! I have never had an occasion to use 2 and 5 in unison. Heck, it had not even occurred to me that it was there. Now, I have something new to play with. THANKS!!!!! |

"Trappin' Squirells" by Catfish John Geer is a fantastic book/tape set dealing with a lot of 2nd string lower situations including unisons with pedal A string 5, and tons of excellent ideas- it is cheap too. I got mine from Frenchy in New Mexico- http://www.frenchyspedalsteel.com
