I haven't worked on them specifically, but from the sound I'd guess strings 3&4 open and with P2&3. I'm waiting for someone to call that song so I can try it with the trumpet patch in my synth.

ya I have to do the parts for a pretty big show and wanted to really nail them, does anyone have any suggestions for attaining a trumet like tone without a synth, using stompboxes and such.

Use a wooden bar.....or keep your palm resting on top of the changer fingers/strings, while playing the lick.
