Howdy,

I can never seem to find any good learning material for blazing steel licks... what I have in mind is captured on Joe Ely's Live at Antone's. "Me & Billy the Kid" has exactly what I'm looking to learn. Has anyone got any tab for this and / or know of any good resources for this kind of stuff?

Thanks,
Mark Smile

The E9 lessons will keep you busy for a LONG TIME. At $17 a pop, they're a great value for ideas. I never use the entire solos from those lessons, but I use snippets all the time. What really kills me about Paul is that he keeps weaving stuff together in ways I'd never think of -- I guess you have to when creating solos on the spot is your profession. There's no tab but he talks you through everything and you can make your own if you wish. There are also rhythm trax at various speeds. I highly recommend both his E9 and C6 lessons. Great stuff from a truly amazing player.

What's more, I ordered several from him and he couldn't ship for almost two months (I'd almost forgotten I'd ordered them) and when he got a shipment in from the duplicators, he sent me a nice note and a free copy of his Christmas album which, like everything he's done, is INCREDIBLE.
