Tab from Guitar Player Article from April 1972

Post by Dayton Osland »

While doing research for another project, I went through a bunch of back issues of Guitar Player on microfiche. In those days (late 60's - early 70's), there was a lot of interest in pedal steel in the magazine. There were few issues that did not have adds from all the major manufacturers. The regularly carried "The Steel Guitar Forum". I believe that this particlar article was done by Tom Bradshaw, but my print of the microfiche doesn't show the column heading.

The article shows how to play this same piece on both E9 and Universal A6th tunings. Here is the E9th

The article has a line of notation above the steel tab. Interestingly, the tab does not correctly represent the notation (or visa versa).

The article specifically mentioned playing this over "Kansas City".
