My single string C6 playing is almost non-existent. I'd like to learn a few chromatic/bluesy, 1/8th note licks to get me going.(Hope I'm describing it properley). Open for anything
thx

Bob;
Try looking at the C6 licks on the Tab from Buddy page.
Hope you find something useful!

Bob;
Try Jim Loessberg's site...he's got a few finger-twisters there, too.

Here's a phrase that I stole from Brian Dixon. It fits well
over a G7.

Bob,
As written its just eighth notes, you could change the phrasing to suit your taste with a rest or tripplets ect. Be carefull though, as with any chromatic run, there are some notes that really strain the ear if sustained, try to linger only on the chord tones when playing this stuff in a country context. The \ sign is indeed a slide,but that could also be changed to suit.

Here's a chromatic lick I heard on Tom Morrell's Panhandle Rag. The player may or may not be Tom. The chromaticism comes from arpeggiating chord substitutions. For the C7, he plays an Am-Abm-Gm-C7#5 progression. I'm having trouble aligning the beats. The eighth notes are swung.
