Matthieu,
I've just discovered that you have programmed
in 12 string pedal steel. Yet, when I have linked in my pedal/knee changes not all are retained. Some are. Some not.
So... I don't see any other way to keep one's settings other than clicking on 'OK',
which doesn't seem to be COMPLETELY working at the time. Thanks for any help.

Chip, You may have to email Matt about this. I don't think he has time to check the steel forum regularly. It would help to send him the link to this thread. Just a thought.

I'm sure you are right-on about this.
The poor man, and God bless him, has all-of-a-sudden-realized he has really bit off more than he can chew.......or anyone could chew....and I only wish him well.......I want TE to move out, and keep evolving for the better........thanks Doug......am I right

I'm glad we finally met at the Rhode Island
steel bash.
I think you will really dig TablEdit. There
are thousands of songs in every imaginable
known music style, and even some which defy
classification.
If you've been reading these posts, Matthieu
did email me directly, and the cause of PITCH CHANGE not remebering the changes is that everytime you download the latest update
version of TE, I guess you have to go into already created tabs from previous versions and rewrite the changes. Same with a tab you may be working on......have to reconfgiure it as well.
Everytime you upgrade, you have to reset your changer values. I think that's what Matt meant.

Chip,
Please don't misunderstand me.
Now the copedant settings (labels, string assignments, pitch changes, everything you can define in the pitch change dialog) are saved with the TablEdit .tef file. IMO, it is a big step forwards since the defined settings are automatically reloaded with the TablEdit file.
Before v2.60 a9, these settings were saved with the tabled32.ini file. So when you were jumping from a E9 tablature to a C6 tablature, you had to reconfigure the instrument from scratch.
Obviously you will need to update the files you have created with previous versions if you don't use the standard E9 PSG copedant. But once it has been done and you have actually SAVED the .tef file, you are all set.
By the way, I don't think there are so many files in this case. So the necessary update should not be a big deal.
Naturally, the update will be necessary only one time. I won't change the file format everytime ;-)
I'll make available v2.60 a9 demo very soon.

Matt,
What is the Tabledit.tef file? Is it the blank Tabledit music page? I guess I didn't
quite understand what you said. I'm still confused.
How do you go about updating the .tef files?
FILE/SAVE AS? Save as what?
I've downloaded V2.60a9, and went to a song
I'm working on and wanted to put in my 2nd string change, which is C# - D. I tried using the letter D, which the default is a
-1. I wanted a +1. I changed it, but it did not retain it.
Also, and this dilemma was posted early on,
because I have a 12-stinger, my 12th string
is another B note. My 1st pedal [very standard E9th change] raises my 1st 2 B's [5 & 9] to C#, but lowers my 3rd B [12] to A.
Is there a way to figure this 2-way change?
I even read up on PITCH CHANGE in the help files, followed the instructions, but could not get it to work.
I'm not a real great PC wiz, so if you would just clear this up for me, I can move a little quicker. And anything I can do to cut
down on time on this PC, is really a blessing.

Regarding the two-way pedal actions, I will simply use unused labels in the list.
