Hi Friends,

I wonder if anyone of You could help me with the intro of this song, performed by John Prine and Trisha Yearwood.

I understand it starts of with the sixthes on strings 3 and 5 at frets 10 to 12, then commences with strings 4 and 6, but then I'm lost.

If anyone has tabbed this one out - please give me a hint.

by the way - who played the steel on that song?

I may be old, fat and ugly
but I'm keepin' it country
what's wrong with the way
that we're doin' it now

According to this article http://www.getmusic.com/artists/amg/Album/113/A432113.html Buddy Emmons and Dan Dugmore played steel on this album.

Thanks, Jeff.

That was exactly what I needed I couldnt figure out that lick on strings 5 & 8. Now it sounds just fine.

If I'm not mistaken, Al Perkins played on a few tunes as well, and I think this was one of them. . .Depending on where you have the B-Bb change you could also stay on the 10th fret for that lick, dropping the 5th string with your KL then as you raise it back up lower the 10th for the resolution.

ps, you'll hear the same lick quite a bit slower in the intro to "I know one" two tracks later on the album.

I could be wrong (and I often am...) but I'm pretty sure that this track is the only one on that cd that has Buddy on it.

That's a great great disc. (Especially the cuts with Iris Dement)

This cut has Al Perkins.
Buddy is on the two Melba Montgomery duets, 'Milwaukee Here I Come' and 'We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds'.

Whoops, you're absolutely right there Jon. Funny how the old memory plays tricks...

Al's tone on that track is ab fab!
