solo-key of E "L" = 1/2 tone lower

In the beginning of the solo, the single notes that are counter to the double-notes from frets 10-14 should be heavily blocked, so that they sound like a "ping", rather than a musical note. Also, the notes on the 10th fret could be played on the 5the fret using the "b,c" pedals but the timbre seems to thicken and the I don't hear a pedal move in the bottom, which you would hear if you went from pressing the "b,c" pedals to unpressing them, and it sounds close to the 12the fret, but it's a real tough call on that. I think most players would opt to play it the way I tabbed it. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

JEFF - Thanks a million for the tab and the instruction. I kind a felt that I had to use the B&C pedals in the intro the ending. I had about 60% of the intro and about 50% of the break down using the B&C but I did not have the correct timing & picking order down pat. I'm using a gizmo called the "CHOP SHOP", it slows down parts of songs you record into it and it maintains the pitch also. I can really slow Franklin down BUT the more you slow down a lick the more distortion you get, again it does help.

Your tabbing the intro & break out helped me the most, thanks.

Also cognates with your new band 'ROADHOUSE". How's the club action up on L.I. and the City???
I'm awaiting the opening of a new C&W club called 'ROADHOUSE' here in Davie, Florida. Right now all we have in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale area) is one C&W night club.

This new club will be using professional up-scale bands from Nashville and outer state. I talked with the manager a few days ago and he told me the club will not be using local bands. It's the same story with "Davie Junction' this club only uses local bands once every three weekends. Times are hard down here for C&W but for JAZZ, BLUES, ROCK, this joint is jumping, lots of clubs to enjoy.

Thanks Ricky. And Kenneth, I'm in two bands, and between them, I get to play a few gigs a month. Also, I rehearse with them each once a week, so all in all, I'm keeping busy. The country scene is about the same as it's been for the last five years, which is lean to say the least. I hear from Bob Hoffnar, though, that he's very busy, doing a wide array of musical things, not just country, and a couple of other steel players I know are finding things to do. Actually, I'd love to get into a swing band, and it doesn't have to be Western swing, but Big Band, 1940's retro-type swing, with some brass. There are a few groups in NYC doing that, but I haven't ventured out to try it. Of course, most of these groups would have no idea that a steel would fit in. So who knows. Ken,

You mentioned "slowing down Franklin" I believe tht Bruce Bouton played this in the Studio. He does most all of B & D stuff.
