Ricky Van Shelton's verion is in C. There are a number of additional chords not in the Cowpie version.

C B Bb A Ab Bb C Dm G
Intro

C Am
Somewhere there should be
Em C7
for all the world to see
F G C C#dim Dm G
A statue of a fool made of stone
C Am
The image of a man
Em C7
who let love slip through his hands
C7 C#7 D7 G G7
And then just let him stand there all alone
C Am Em C7
And there on his face a gold tear should be placed
F G C C#dim Dm G
To honor the million tears he's cried
C Am
And the hurt in his eyes would show
Em C
So everyone would know
C7 C#7 D7 G G7
That concealed is a broken heart inside
C Am
So Build me a statue
Dm G
And Lord build it high
Dm G C C B Bb A Ab
So that all can See
Ab C Em Am
Then inscribe oh the world's greatest fool
Dm Em F G Ab Bb C
And name it after me After me
