Buddy Emmons and Lloyd Green and others play this tune with some triplets (?pull-off or hammer-on licks) before the the descending note run to the root note. Anyone know what they are doing? Thanks for any suggestions you may have. <FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Steve Benzian on 29 October 2000 at 08:14 AM.]</p></FONT>

I've heard a lot of players do a hammer trill on the E string with the F# note at the second fret (in the key of E).

b0b and Steve, here are 2 more variations on the "hammer" lick. You can add to the F# hammer on & off with another hammer on and off on the "B" (5th) string at the 2nd fret (C#). You can choose not to use the hammer on the E string at F# and substitute the 5th string hammer at C#. I use all of the above more or less depending on the "groove" the bass man and drummer is laying down. If I'm having a bad night, I keep it straight and simple with no frills.
