Another Ruggism

I copped another cool counterpoint move from Hal this week. I can see using this one alot. In fact, the band was probably sick of hearing it by the time we were done our Saturday night dance Image
It's from Hal's "Old Rugged Cross", which is in Bb and in 3/4. This lick moves from the I to the 1V chord.

<font face="monospace" size="3"><pre><B><font size=4>
Bb Bb7 Eb
4--6~~6c--|--8c~~12L~~11C~~|~~11-
5---------|----------------|-----
6--6~~6b--|--8b~~12b~~11b~~|~~11-
<font size=3> </B></pre></font>

I think it's pretty cool, the way it moves through the major to the major 7th, to the 7th. It's almost Lloyd-like.

P.s. Thanks for the lessons, Hal! <FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by John Steele on 03 October 2000 at 07:11 PM.]</p></FONT>
