Hi all.
I was wondering if anybody has tabbed out Paul Franklin's UNBELIEVEABLE solo in this Brent Mason song. I love to learn it but wouldn't even know where to start.

You mean no one has tried to figure this one out yet?

I don't have the music Dave. I love a challenge though and wouldn't mind hearing it to see if it's possible to tab by me; but I don't buy any new music cause there is just too much music I would buy and go broke.

Ricky,
Thanks for the reply. I'll e-mail you an MP3 of Paul's solo so you can see what you think about tabbing it out.
Thanks,
Dave Alfstad

Dave, Nils Tuxen told me for some time that this solo of Paul was recorded piece for piece, Nils said that Paul didn't play this solo in only one part on this session. It took several days. I don't know if this is right. But I'm sure that Paul can play that three times in a row.

Dave sent me a copy of the solo. The solo is at least double-tracked. At one point of the solo, when he plays the low notes, PF is comping to himself.

Guys I feel this song was recorded in A and not Bb, the key the song is on the CD.I say this because of the open string lick near the middle. In A this lick lines up perfectly but in Bb you have to raise the 8th a half tone and (half-pedal) the 5th while moving the bar up two frets and back. I should mention you still have to move the bar in A,just no knee pedal or half-pedal needed.

Just Hammer 8th string 3rd fret then play 5 open, then play 8th string, bar down. move to 5th fret hammer 8 and play 5th string, pedal down. then play 8. move back to 3rd fret hammer 8 and play 5th open, then 8th string bar down. Now hammer 8 at 3rd fret, play 6th string pedal-down open, and then play 8 bar down 3rd fret. Dang tab would have to be easier than this. Hope this helps. Double B PS, this is just my take on this. I don't claim to be no steel player. Don't claim to be no speller either! <FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by Bobby Boggs on 13 May 2003 at 09:17 PM.]</p></FONT>

I'll get the ball rolling. This is the first part as I hear it. It's done based on the first chord being Eb. We can change it down to D later. At the end of this piece, the second track with the "bumble bee" solo kicks in. If we can tab that, we can work out a passing note or two so that the solo is in one piece. Let's try to keep it going. And Ricky, I reduced the font on Notepad to 10. When I type in 6, it makes no difference, and this is what I get. And I don't know how to do URL's. This is getting frustrating... Jeff

~ = normal pedal movement
x = very quick pedal movement
