Dave, I have the whole thing tabbed out. Just finished it last week. The intro starts in G and resolves to a G. The chorus has 2 G's in it, the bridge has 3 that I know of.
Why don't I send you my tab sheets and Number chart. It would be a lot easier. I don't know how to use clictab yet and it would take 2 days to put it on here.
Email me your address and I'll drop it in the mail.

And don't forget. Once you have learned the licks on that song, you have to learn how to play it out of tune. Just like the original recording! Image

I must really be tone deaf. I've heard a lot of people say that it was out of tune but I don't detect it to a great degree. Was the steel out of tune or were there just certain parts out of tune?

I'll tell you a really sad tale. Back in the "old days" our band played that song. Back when it was a new tune. I was just starting to play steel guitar. I had always played "regular" guitar prior to that. Anyhow, I was very much aware of how out-of-tune the steel was on that song. It really bugged me that they would produce a recording with such awful sounding steel.

But, what's really sad is, when I listen to live recordings we made back in those days, my steel was every much as out-of-tune as his was. On all of our songs! Image

Oh well.....
