For some of the newer players out there, here is a sweet little simple and easy chord progression from the I chord to the IV chord. This will work for countless slow or 4/4 songs. Its simply applying two 7th chords to one measure. It works in any pedals down position of the I chord. Even though I say for the newer player, Ive used it for years
Example: Key of (C) to the (F) chord
<font size="3" face="monospace"><pre>
5 3a~~~1~~~~~6a~~~~~8a~~8a
6 3b~~~1b~~~~6~~~~~~8~~~8b
7
8 3~~~~1d~~~~6~~~~~~8~~~8
C C7th C7th F

Pick the strings once at the 3rd fret and make it one sweeping phrase.
