Ricky,
On the Dixie Chicks "Wide Open Spaces" CD, there is a song called "Let It Rip" that Lloyd Maines does some incredible steel work. Did he double track his steel parts? Could you tab it out? If anyone can do it, you can.
Thanks

Hey Richard; I don't have my steel with me, but I listened to it, and yea Lloyd did do some cool Lloyd stuff there. Sounds like he did double track, or he is using his analog chourus/delay thing he has, that makes it sound somewhat expanded. I'm leaving tonight for pretty much two months and it will be hard to tab exactly what he did without sitting down to the steel; but I can ballpark off the top of my head what I think he was doing. Now it may turn out different somewhat after I can sit down to my steel; but I know alot of what Lloyd does, through our time we woodshedded together. Sounds like key of E; so here goes.

Hey Richard; the rest of it can be played several different ways; either start in the 5 chord pedal down position or 5 chord no-pedal position, and give it a whirl. Now listening to this solo Lloyd played really makes me want to sit down and work it out; just to see if I got close. If you get stuck somewhere; let me know. But I think that will get you started; and try and cop the same idea; but make it work for you; that is exactly what Lloyd Maines would say. Have fun.
