Can anyone pick a key, say the key of "A" or "G" and tab out a blues scale. I'm trying to incorporate some blue notes in my playing style. This would be for E9th tuning

Bob, Thanks for the scales they're a big help. While I have you here I've been spending a lot of time playing the
E9 version of Cherokee you posted along with the BIAB soundtrack. I'm having a blast with it !!! My question is what scale would
you play over the verse and chorus for some
ad lib lead work? I hear in my head what I want to play but I'm unable to translate to the steel. I've been playing by ear for so long I never really felt the need to learn scales. I have a feeling that philosophy towards learning has finally caught up to me!!

A nice comp can be found 2 frets up from the open position using strings : 2 lowered a half tone ,6 with pedal 2 and 7.

So the voice is (descending) 1,5,3.

When the tune goes to the IV chord use str8 raised plus 2 and 6 for the 9th voice.

Voice 5,9,7

Likewise 2 frets up for V7

If you look around a fret either way there are enough notes to incorporate some nice r&b riffs with the chords as well
